Engineering Team Lead

Position - Engineering Lead (Looking for people from Fintech domain only)

Location: Mumbai | Full-time | 7+ years experience

About the company

We are a publicly listed tech-first NBFC building a digital personal loan app. As the product scales, our tech stack, underwriting systems, and engineering team need to scale with it.

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to own the entire technology stack — from onboarding and underwriting to disbursals, repayments, and collections — and to build the engineering function into something genuinely AI-native.

Tech Lead (8+ Years Experience) Requirements

1. Built and Scaled Production Systems

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2+ years in a Tech Lead role.
• Proven experience scaling applications handling high transaction volumes, large user bases, or business-critical workloads.

2. Strong System Design & Architecture Skills

• Expertise in designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong understanding of system design, performance optimization, fault tolerance, and reliability.

3. Hands-on Engineering Leader -

• strong hands-on experience with Python, Django, and React Native
• Should actively contribute to coding, design reviews, debugging, and production issue resolution.
• Able to balance technical leadership with hands-on development.

4. Cloud & DevOps Experience

• Strong experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, infrastructure automation, and production operations.

5. Database & Data Scaling Expertise

• Deep understanding of SQL databases, performance tuning, indexing, replication, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience handling growing data volumes and system bottlenecks.

6. Mobile & API Platform Scaling

• Experience supporting mobile applications and backend platforms with rapidly growing user traffic.
• Knowledge of API performance optimization, caching, rate limiting, and observability.

7. AI-Driven Engineering Productivity

• Experience leveraging AI tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, code quality, documentation, onboarding, troubleshooting, and knowledge management.
• Ability to build or drive an Engineering Brain by integrating internal documentation, architecture knowledge, coding standards, runbooks, and operational learnings into AI-powered systems.

8. Team Leadership & Execution

• Experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, driving technical decisions, and delivering projects on schedule.
