ROLE OVERVIEW

The Day 2 Wave Change Lead plays a pivotal role in driving successful change within a specific geography as part of a broader transformation programme. This role is accountable for planning, coordinating, and delivering change initiatives that impact employees across multiple functions and markets within the wave, ensuring alignment with global strategies while addressing local needs and cultural nuances.

While global and functional change leads focus on enterprise-wide or function-specific changes, the Wave Change Lead ensures that these initiatives are implemented effectively within the target markets. This includes tailoring approaches to local contexts, managing regional stakeholders, and ensuring employees experience a consistent, integrated, and people-centered change journey.

Additionally, the Wave Change Lead acts as the glue across market change leads within the wave, fostering collaboration, alignment, and knowledge sharing. The role also escalates combined challenges or systemic issues that require resolution at a macro level, serving as a critical link between local execution and global governance.

A close working relationship with the Wave Deployment Lead is essential to ensure seamless sequencing and delivery of change activities across deployment waves, providing mutual support and alignment between change and deployment plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wave Change Leadership

  • Own the wave change strategy for initiatives impacting employees across multiple functions and markets.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for employee-facing change within the wave markets.
  • Ensure global change plans are localized and relevant for the regional audience.

Alignment Across Markets

  • Serve as the connector and integrator (the glue) across market change leads to ensure consistency and coherence.
  • Facilitate collaboration, best practice sharing, and problem-solving across markets.
  • Identify shared challenges or risks across markets and escalate to global teams for resolution.

Programme Coordination

  • Align wave change activities with global programme milestones and priorities.
  • Manage dependencies between global, functional, and BU initiatives.
  • Maintain visibility of cumulative employee impact within the wave impacted markets.

Localization & Cultural Adaptation

  • Adapt global messaging and approaches to reflect regional cultural, regulatory, and operational considerations.
  • Ensure communications and enablement materials resonate with local audiences.

Impact Assessment & Planning

  • Utilize functional impact assessments to understand employee implications.
  • Identify risks, readiness gaps, and interdependencies specific to the wave.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and track adoption metrics.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with Wave and BU leadership, HR, Communications, and functional change leads.
  • Identify and map Wave stakeholders and ensure effective engagement and sentiment tracking.
  • Build strong relationships with local influencers to drive engagement and advocacy.

Employee Communications & Engagement

  • Deliver clear, timely, and culturally relevant communications at a wave level and ensure consistence at a market level.
  • Champion feedback loops and employee listening within the wave to inform adjustments.

Enablement & Support

  • Coordinate wave training, toolkits, and resources to support adoption, utilising global assets to the maximum.
  • Monitor change effectiveness and employee sentiment locally, adjusting plans as needed.

Governance & Integration

  • Ensure wave change efforts align with global governance frameworks.
  • Integrate change activities with business-as-usual operations in the BU

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Proven experience leading change initiatives within a regional or multi-country context.
  • Strong understanding of employee engagement, communications, and cultural adaptation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with global and functional teams.
  • Familiarity with change frameworks (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter) and agile delivery models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and communication capabilities.
