JOB SUMMARY:

Impact Arena is a 12,000 pax Arena and has over twenty-five years of history holding iconic global acts and concerts, conferences, sporting events and local performances. This busy hub within the larger Impact precinct, has up to 60 major events a year with over 600,000 people attending events there.

The Event Production Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of all Back of House activities within the venue. This role oversees all technical and operational elements of event delivery, including venue setup (Front of House and queuing arrangements), production services, FM service contracts, equipment maintenance, rigging, traffic management, storage, logistics, crew rostering, and budget oversight.

The position also plays a key role in maintaining high standards of venue presentation, coordinating with clients and service providers, and ensuring all production and operational practices align with industry best standards.

The Event Production Engineering Manager reports directly to the Head of Event Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with promoters and touring production teams to ensure the smooth and efficient bump-in, delivery, and bump-out of events and functions.
  • Work closely with the Head of Event Operations, Events Manager, Event Coordinators, Security Manager, and Risk & Safety Manager to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Oversee the Impact Arena Facilities Management provider to ensure the venue is maintained to the highest operational and presentation standards.
  • Produce and oversee Back of House (BOH) Risk Assessments for all events in collaboration with the Event Team and the Risk & Safety Manager.
  • Ensure all statutory, licensing, and health and safety requirements are met and that new legislation is implemented promptly.
  • Ensure all BOH personnel and contractors complete required OH&S and site safety inductions.
  • Lead, train, and roster BOH staff and contractors for events, ensuring optimal resource allocation within budget.
  • Provide clear guidance and communication to BOH teams and contractors regarding business objectives, event goals, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all operations staff and service providers follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and are adequately trained.
  • Maintain effective supervision of casual staff, technical crews, and third-party suppliers, ensuring consistent operational delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate all production-related service providers, ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations and venue standards.
  • Maintain service agreements with all relevant production providers.
  • Oversee end-to-end coordination of technical and production services who utilize the Arena on behalf of the Hirer/Promoters, including but not limited to:
  • Rigging, Audio, Lighting. Crowd barriers, LED suppliers. Staging
  • Ensure storerooms and BOH areas are well maintained, organized, and operated efficiently.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and accurate communication flows between internal teams and external partners.
  • Support the compilation and distribution of event estimates and settlements at the conclusion of the event.
  • Assist in the procurement of any Capex item related directly to Production improvements to the Arena.
  • Implement and uphold LN/Impact governance processes across all BOH operations and ensure staff understanding and compliance.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance and Head of Event Operations to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting of production and operational costs.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure value for money, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Build and maintain transparent, professional relationships with venue hirers, promoters, touring personnel, and key stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive and solutions-focused approach to all client interactions.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties associated with the role.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Back of House (BOH) management within a live music or entertainment venue.
  • Possession of a Civil Engineering Certification or Professional Engineer (PE) License will be considered an advantage.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Thai and English.
  • Proficiency in CAD for production and rigging plots (desirable).
  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to adapt quickly and solve problems effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse teams.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and CAD software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop team members.
