They are seeking a visionary Events Sales Manager in Singapore to help them launching into this market.
This is a high-growth opportunity for a sales professional who is ready to take ownership of client acquisition in Japan. You will work closely with senior leadership to execute market entry strategies, focusing on securing initial contracts and building a robust pipeline. As the business scales, you will grow alongside the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Execution: Execute the go-to-market sales strategy for the Japan region, translating high-level goals into actionable daily sales activities.
- New Business Acquisition: Drive prospecting and outreach to secure contracts with Japanese corporations, trade associations, and government entities.
- Client Management: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, acting as a trusted advisor to understand their event and partnership needs.
- Pipeline Generation: Utilize social selling, networking events, and direct outreach to consistently generate qualified leads and meet monthly/quarterly quotas.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with global product teams and the Singapore office to ensure local offerings align with client needs.
- Data Accuracy: Maintain high standards of CRM hygiene, ensuring accurate forecasting and activity tracking for regional leadership.
- Team Contribution: Support the wider sales culture, potentially mentoring junior team members or collaborating with sales development representatives as the team grows.
Who You Are
- Japanese Language Mastery: Native or near-native fluency in Japanese is essential. You must be comfortable negotiating and presenting in both Japanese and English.
- Proven Track Record: 4+ years of experience in B2B sales, ideally within the events, hospitality, MICE, or professional services sectors.
- Hunter Mindset: A self-starter who enjoys the chase-comfortable with cold calling, networking, and navigating complex procurement processes.
- Cultural Awareness: Strong understanding of Japanese business etiquette and relationship-building norms (Nemawashi).
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with modern CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and virtual collaboration platforms.
- Adaptability: Thrives in a changing environment where priorities may shift as the new market evolves.
