- The Sales Manager – Social & Events serves as the key planning and administrative executive for all events, ensuring the successful execution of corporate, social, and group functions. Their role encompasses achieving revenue and production targets while maintaining high event standards.
- Maintain a close relationship with IHG corporate and key stakeholders to ensure all IHG policies and event standards are implemented and strictly followed.
- Responsible for motivating and supporting the events team to achieve and surpass assigned revenue targets and guest satisfaction benchmarks.
- Identify and determine the annual event goals and serviced client accounts for the team, reviewing and adjusting them as needed.
- Develop a comprehensive event sales and operations strategy, reporting monthly to the Director of Sales & Marketing on performance and market trends.
- Ensure timely submission of event sales reports, market share updates, budget reconciliations, and performance analysis.
- Oversee the gathering of market statistics and trends, implementing strategic adjustments based on data analysis.
- Supervise and solicit new event business from key market segments, including corporate, social, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) accounts.
- Follow up on event leads within 24 hours, supporting the hotel's sales team where required.
- Directly manage a portfolio of key accounts with significant revenue potential for the hotel.
- Implement IHG event planning tools and corporate programs effectively and positively.
- Analyze industry trends and event performance metrics to enhance business strategy.
- Stay well-informed about hotel event spaces, catering options, and facilities to effectively pitch to potential clients.
- Monitor competitor event offerings, pricing, and service trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Oversee and support the sales team's production and activities, ensuring high-quality event execution.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create promotions and event packages to attract more business.
- Negotiate event contracts and agreements within the authority limits set by management.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, DMCs (Destination Management Companies), PCOs (Professional Conference Organizers), associations, and government departments to secure future business.
- Stay updated on the hotel's special programs, promotions, and advertising to effectively inform clients.
- Host site inspections, client entertainment, and familiarization trips to maintain and develop strong client relationships.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, sales trips, and IHG showcase events to promote event services.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Sales & marketing.
Other Responsibilities
- Be fully conversant with hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
- Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the Management.
- Flexible and resilience on the working hours and working on public holidays or weekend as per business requirement.
