Execution Engineer (Power Generation / Genset Projects)
An established engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Execution Engineer to support regional power-generation projects across their full execution lifecycle. The role is suited to an engineer with strong hands-on experience in diesel or gas gensets, electrical power systems, site installation and commissioning who enjoys coordinating between customers, engineering teams, suppliers and project sites.
Contract Period: Approximately September 2026 to December 2027, with potential extension depending on project requirements and individual performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Support engineering execution for power-generation projects from order confirmation through testing, installation, commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing.
- Prepare and submit technical drawings, engineering documentation and customer submittals.
- Review technical documentation relating to gensets, enclosures and associated systems.
- Extract technical requirements and prepare relevant Factory Witness Test / Factory Acceptance Test documentation and test scripts.
- Ensure balance-of-plant equipment and supplied systems comply with agreed customer requirements and approved project scope.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues and outstanding action items.
- Attend customer and project meetings and follow up on engineering deliverables and open technical matters.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing and assist in closing technical punch-list items arising from testing.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain drawings, datasheets, technical documentation and quotations required for project execution.
- Provide engineering support at supplier, packager and customer sites when required.
- Record project lessons learnt and contribute to continuous improvement of future engineering execution.
- Review and amend engineering drawings where required experience with AutoCAD will be advantageous.
Who Should Apply
- Engineers with solid experience in diesel generators, gas engines, gensets, power-generation systems or mission-critical power projects, particularly those exposed to project execution and commissioning.
- Candidates who enjoy being the technical link between customers, engineering teams, suppliers and site personnel rather than working purely in design.
- Engineers comfortable handling regional projects and travelling across APAC for site installation, testing and commissioning activities.
Requirements
- Min. Degree or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience within diesel engines, gas engines, gensets or the power-generation industry.
- Hands-on experience in engineering project management, site installation, site supervision and commissioning of diesel genset systems.
- Good understanding of electrical power systems and genset control systems.
- Knowledge of engineering calculations relating to gensets and electrical power systems.
- Knowledge of switchgear, electrical protection systems and power distribution will be advantageous.
- AutoCAD knowledge will be advantageous.
- Experience working across regional or APAC engineering projects is preferred.
- Strong customer-facing communication, stakeholder management and coordination skills.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Willing and able to travel within APAC as required.
