Job Summary
Design and execute mechanical engineering solutions for building projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and delivering innovative, sustainable systems. Collaborate across teams to manage projects from feasibility studies to tender assessments and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Design and perform calculations for mechanical engineering systems including ACMV, fire protection, plumbing, and sanitary systems to meet project requirements
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and life cycle analyses to support building engineering project planning
- Prepare detailed study reports, design reports, technical notes, and public consultation papers to communicate project findings and proposals
- Develop comprehensive tender documents and technical specifications to guide procurement processes
- Evaluate tenders and prepare thorough assessment reports to support informed decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables align with client expectations
- Support project management and contract administration activities to maintain project progress and compliance
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance mechanical engineering solutions
- Ensure all designs and implementations comply with Singapore's local building codes and regulations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce accurate engineering drawings and models
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient systems to contribute to environmentally responsible projects
- Strong project management skills to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address technical challenges and optimize engineering outcomes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities to maintain high-quality documentation and project records
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical information and collaborate with stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within teams
