Job Description

Job Title: Financial Controlling Factory

Department: Finance

Role Overview

The Financial Controlling Factory role is a pivotal leadership position, accountable for all financial controlling functions within the Manufacturing division. This includes strategic oversight of costing, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to ensure that financial operations support organizational objectives and promote sustainable growth. Acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders, the Manager / Supervisor of Financial Controlling identifies opportunities for operational improvement, enhances cost efficiency, and provides data-driven insights to inform decision-making on key projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead and manage the consolidated planning, forecasting, and budgeting process for Manufacturing, ensuring strict adherence to financial procedures and enhancing forecast accuracy.
  • Oversee the annual budget preparation process, ensuring that financial goals are aligned with business objectives, fostering a culture of financial discipline and accountability.
  • Monitor and manage the P&L, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial performance. Identify areas for improvement and initiate cost-saving measures.

Cost Management & Control

  • Lead the costing team in controlling costs and expenditure across Manufacturing, ensuring cost-saving initiatives are effectively implemented and operational efficiencies are achieved.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analysis for business unit projects, providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Enforce adherence to cost efficiency and budget planning for both short- and long-term strategic projects, ensuring transparency and accountability within the manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee end-to-end cost tracking for manufacturing and supply chain, focusing on key cost areas such as conversion costs and COGS, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly management reports, focusing on sales, costs, gross profit, SG&A, operating profit, and net profit, ensuring financial results are communicated accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to improve financial outcomes and optimize business performance.
  • Lead the preparation of internal management and performance reports, tailored to the specific needs of the business unit, and contribute to monthly business reviews and quarterly strategic reviews.

Costing Structure & Process Improvement

  • Lead the development and refinement of cost structures and cost allocation methods to ensure accurate and efficient cost reporting.
  • Exercise veto power over changes to costing setups, Bill of Materials (BOM), routing, and standard time concepts, ensuring all modifications align with financial control standards.
  • Drive process improvements by acting as the project leader for financial and controlling process enhancements within the Manufacturing division.

Strategic Support & Decision-Making

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing strategic decision support and recommending improvements in cost efficiency, ROI, and financial operations.
  • Support strategic decisions related to new and existing projects by evaluating their financial viability and impact on overall business performance.
  • Lead S&OP planning analysis, including budget variance analysis, cost-volume-profit analysis, and capacity planning, to ensure financial targets are met and operational objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Costing, Financial Reporting, and Accounting Management, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role with team management responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, with a strong focus on financial controlling, cost management, and budgeting within a high-volume production environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and software (SAP, BI, Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL, RPA).
  • Strong expertise in costing analysis, financial modeling, and performance metrics to drive business insights and operational efficiency.
  • In-depth understanding of costing structures, BOM, routing, and standard time concepts, with a focus on manufacturing finance principles.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams, mentor staff, and drive results.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey complex financial information to senior management.
  • Communicable in English (both written and verbal communication) is essential.
