Job Description

We are looking for a Field Engineer, reporting to the Service and Parts Manager, based out of our vehicle assembly facility on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support to dealers and fleet customers, including for modified/specialist vehicles. The Field Engineer resolves complex issues that cannot be addressed remotely, supports field actions and quality feedback loops, and builds capability through on-the-job coaching and technical training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to escalated technical cases from remote support channels and dealer workshops; conduct on-site diagnosis and resolution.
  • Support dealer capability building through coaching, on-the-job guidance and targeted technical training.
  • Provide feedback and issue summaries for GFS-modified vehicles to support continuous improvement and engineering change management.
  • Support execution of field actions (e.g., service campaigns, recalls, technical service bulletins) including verification and reporting.
  • Ensure safe work practices and compliance with local site requirements, especially in remote or challenging operating environments.
  • Document learnings, repair procedures and repeated failure modes to improve technical publications and troubleshooting guides.
  • Coordinate with parts teams to identify required spares and minimize vehicle downtime during field support visits.
  • Verify that dealers possess and correctly use the required specialized tools for both base vehicles and specific modifications.
  • Ensure that failed components are tagged, documented, and stored correctly for return-to-base analysis to support warranty claims.

Skills And Qualifications


  • Automotive technical background with strong diagnostic capability (electrical and mechanical).
  • Experience supporting fleets or special/modified vehicle programs in the field, potentially in remote environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and create clear service guidance for others.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on short notice when required.
  • Customer focus and professionalism in the field
  • Strong documentation and case-management discipline
  • Confident in communicating in English both written and verbal
