Your Opportunity: The Guardian of Financial Integrity
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Finance & Accounting Analyst to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our financial foundation. This is more than a bookkeeping role; it is a vital position that requires deep accounting knowledge and critical thinking to ensure our organization remains financially healthy, compliant, and ready to support families on their life-changing journeys.
You will be the practical keeper of the truth behind the numbers, managing the day-to-day financial heartbeat of the company. We need a professional who analyzes the reasonableness of accounts, understands the why behind every transaction, and thinks globally to support our international operations.
What You Will Do:
1. Master Financial Records & Bookkeeping
- Record with Precision: Manage daily accounting entries including invoices, receipts, transfers, and expenses, ensuring every transaction is classified correctly in our chart of accounts based on sound accounting principles.
- Analyze for Reasonableness: Go beyond mechanical recording; actively analyze account balances and transactions for reasonableness. Identify anomalies, challenge discrepancies, and ensure the financial data makes sense.
- Support the Cycle: Play a key role in month-end and year-end closings, managing complex tasks like accruals, amortizations, and provisions with a clear understanding of their impact on the financial statements.
- Manage Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of tax obligations, specifically GST for our Canadian operations, ensuring strict adherence to local regulations.
2. Drive Financial Administration & Reporting
- Prepare Strategic Reports: Move beyond data gathering to generate meaningful financial reports. Present accurate sales data, expense breakdowns, and payment statuses that help leadership make informed global decisions.
- Streamline Operations: Manage financial inputs within our CRM and maintain detailed sales reports, ensuring that data flows logically between operational and financial systems.
- Manage Events & Expenses: Oversee the financial side of our industry events, preparing expense reimbursements and managing billing with a thoughtful, organized approach to documentation.
- Control Business Spend: Monitor office business expenses, ensuring follow-ups are done proactively and payments are made on time.
3. Collaborate for Impact
- Partner with Leadership: Work closely with the Director of Finance and CFO to provide accurate, analyzed data for strategic decision-making.
- Think Globally: Approach every task with a global mindset, understanding how transactions in one region impact the broader international group.
Key Performance Indicators (What Success Looks Like):
- Bookkeeping Excellence: All holding bookkeeping is updated accurately and on time, including successful GST tax submissions.
- Analytical Accuracy: Account balances are reasonable, reconciled, and free of unexplained variances.
- Expense Management: Events reimbursements and outsourcing fees are processed efficiently with all supporting documentation collected.
- Reporting Quality: Financial reports are timely, accurate, and provide a clear picture of performance.
Who You Are:
- An Experienced Accountant: You have a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Business Administration with 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably within multinational companies.
- A Thoughtful Analyst: You are not just operational; you have a thoughtful, organized way of working. You understand the accounting theory behind your work and intuitively know when an account doesn't look right.
- A Technical Expert: You have solid knowledge of general accounting principles and local standards. You are proficient in QuickBooks and Excel, and comfortable using tools like Trello and CRMs.
- A Global Thinker: You understand the complexities of working with multiple currencies and international entities. You think globally and adapt easily to a dynamic business environment.
- A Global Communicator: You have advanced English skills (written and spoken) and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
