Job Description

Director of Finance & Accounting

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview

The Director of Finance & Accounting will lead the organization's corporate finance and accounting functions, with responsibility for group consolidation, financial reporting, corporate FP&A, tax structuring, treasury, and financial governance across multiple jurisdictions, including Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Lao PDR, as well as Joint Ventures.

This role will oversee the Finance & Accounting team across AP/AR, GL & Reporting, and Treasury, while providing strategic financial support for corporate transactions, M&A, restructuring, investments, business development, and other cross-functional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting, Consolidation & Financial Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual standalone and consolidated financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee group consolidation, multi-currency reporting, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations.
  • Review accounting and tax treatments for complex transactions, including M&A, corporate restructuring, JV formations, equity investments/divestments, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Review journal entries, fixed asset registers, account reconciliations, and other key accounting activities.
  • Prepare and present consolidated financial results, management reports, and performance analysis to the Board of Directors and Annual General Meeting.
  • Act as the key contact for external auditors, advisors, sponsors, and JV partners to ensure timely and high-quality audits.

2. Corporate FP&A, Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Lead the annual corporate budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Oversee corporate cash flow forecasting and medium-term financial planning.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis covering corporate expenses, business performance, and development expenditures.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to cross-functional teams and business units.
  • Oversee project cash flow forecasts, capital calls, and intercompany loan processes.

3. Tax Structuring & Statutory Compliance

  • Oversee tax filings, tax computations, and statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors on tax-efficient structures for cross-border investments and projects, including Double Tax Agreement (DTA) considerations.
  • Lead the application, compliance, and reporting requirements related to BOI and International Business Center (IBC) tax incentive schemes in Thailand.
  • Monitor corporate tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and other relevant tax matters across regional entities.

4. Corporate Treasury & Liquidity Management

  • Oversee liquidity management for parent and holding companies.
  • Manage corporate working capital and medium-term cash requirements.
  • Direct and monitor cross-border fund flows between parent, holding, subsidiary, and JV entities.
  • Ensure effective cash management and appropriate controls over treasury activities.

5. Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop three key Finance & Accounting functions: AP/AR, GL & Reporting, and Treasury.
  • Establish and strengthen financial controls, accounting policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Optimize the chart of accounts and financial processes across multiple entities.
  • Drive ERP improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of consolidated reporting.
  • Build a high-performing finance function capable of supporting the organization's regional growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA qualification is required.
  • Licensed Tax Auditor certification is a strong advantage.

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and corporate finance.
  • At least 4+ years of experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing multi-country holding and operating structures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with group consolidation and multi-jurisdictional financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience with BOI and IBC tax incentive regimes and corporate tax compliance.
  • Experience managing complex corporate transactions, including M&A, restructuring, JV investments, and equity transactions.
  • Experience presenting financial results and business performance directly to Board-level stakeholders and executive management.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and TFRS.
  • Advanced expertise in multi-currency group consolidation and JV accounting, including equity method accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax, cross-border withholding tax, transfer pricing, BOI, and IBC compliance.
  • Strong understanding of corporate treasury and cash management.
  • High proficiency in modern ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.

Language

  • Fluent in Thai and English, both written and spoken.
