Job Description

Main Purpose of the Role

This role is a key contributor to financial planning and analysis, working closely with business units to achieve both operational and financial objectives. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing financial models, templates, and processes for budgeting and forecasting, as well as preparing operational KPIs and financial reports with in-depth analysis to identify improvement opportunities.

The position serves as a trusted financial advisor to the business, providing insights to support decision-making. It also drives value creation initiatives, identifies process improvement opportunities, and ensures strong compliance and risk management. In addition, the role supports leadership in maintaining high employee engagement, developing local talent, building a diverse and trust-based team, and fostering a collaborative culture.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Finance Business Partnering

  • Partner with business units to understand operational and financial requirements and support achievement of company targets.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing financial insights to support strategic and tactical decisions (e.g., CAPEX investments, process changes).

Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting

  • Develop and oversee financial models, templates, and processes for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Lead and coordinate budgeting and forecasting cycles with business stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to support key initiatives and planning assumptions.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate objectives and accuracy of financial outputs.

Performance Monitoring

  • Define and monitor key financial and operational KPIs, linking performance drivers to financial outcomes.
  • Implement cost control measures and identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations to optimize resource allocation and cost effectiveness.
  • Conduct benchmarking analysis to promote best practices across functions.

Financial Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management, translating results into business insights.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
  • Provide forward-looking financial insights, including full-year projections and rolling forecasts.
  • Oversee accounting activities within assigned cost centers, focusing on standard costing, production variances, and fixed assets.

Process Optimization

  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes.
  • Drive best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Product Costing

  • Monitor product costing, including BOM and routing, and assess cost impacts.
  • Contribute to annual standard cost setting and continuous improvement of costing methodologies.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective controls.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support talent development, training, and career progression within the finance function.

Specific Responsibilities Production Cost Center

  • Oversee P&L planning, controlling, reporting, and analysis of COGS (standard cost, production variances, and non-unit driven costs) for assigned plants.
  • Manage Balance Sheet components, including CAPEX and inventory.
  • Monitor productivity, cost, and inventory KPIs that drive financial performance.

Specific Responsibilities Production Support Cost Center

  • Oversee P&L and COGS analysis across production support functions, including consolidated performance.
  • Manage CAPEX and inventory for production support areas.
  • Monitor cost and inventory KPIs to support financial planning assumptions.

Suggested KPIs (to be refined)

  • Factory and operational KPIs within assigned scope
  • Budget vs. actual variance (excluding volume impact)
  • Timeliness and quality of budgeting and forecasting submissions
  • Business partnering satisfaction

Key Stakeholders (Internal)

  • Cost center owners and functional leaders
  • Finance leadership (Business Controlling and FP&A)

Requirements:

Education

  • Master's degree preferred (MBA or relevant professional certifications such as CPA/CMA is an advantage)
  • Background in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years in business controlling or costing within a manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years in a managerial role
