We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager / Finance Lead to take ownership of financial reporting, accounting, treasury, tax compliance, AP/AR, internal controls, and finance process improvement.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on finance leadership role for someone who can manage the finance function while also going into the details directly when needed. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to provide accurate reporting, business insights, cash flow visibility, cost control, and stronger finance processes.

You will also be expected to use AI tools and simple automation to improve finance workflows, reduce manual work, and make reporting faster and more accurate.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Accounting

• Manage and review bookkeeping in the accounting system.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing.
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, and investor reporting packs.
• Translate financial results into clear business insights for management.
• Manage the yearly audit process with external auditors, including Big 4 auditors.

Planning, Budgeting and Analysis

• Work with the CEO and leadership team to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Support department heads in budget planning, cost control, and performance tracking.
• Build financial models to project revenue, cost, cash flow, and profitability.
• Analyze company performance and identify key business drivers.
• Highlight risks, opportunities, and cost-saving areas.

Accounts Receivable, Payable and Cash Flow

• Manage and monitor AR and AP processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to merchants, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor collections, outstanding balances, aging reports, and payment cycles.
• Improve credit terms, cash flow timing, and payment processes where possible.
• Strengthen internal controls around approvals, reconciliation, and documentation.

Tax, Compliance and Audit

• Monitor company cash flow, cash position, and working capital.
• Ensure tax filings, VAT, withholding tax, and other compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies.
• Identify ways to improve tax efficiency and compliance processes.

AI, Automation and Process Improvement

• Identify manual finance tasks that can be improved through AI tools, templates, or simple automation.
• Use AI tools to improve reporting speed, data analysis, reconciliation checks, document review, and workflow efficiency.
• Build better reports, trackers, templates, and simple automated workflows where possible.
• Recommend productivity improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and stronger internal controls.
• Create SOPs and improve finance documentation.

Team Management

• Manage and mentor a small finance team.
• Set clear expectations, deadlines, and quality standards.
• Review team output and ensure accuracy before reporting to management.
• Build a finance culture that is accurate, proactive, business-minded, and solution-oriented.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or related roles.
• Experience in a startup, tech company, marketplace, e-commerce, SaaS, or fast-moving business is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, tax, cash flow, and internal controls.
• Experience preparing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Comfortable using accounting systems, AI tools, and simple automation tools to improve reporting, reduce manual work, and increase accuracy.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
