The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager based in HQ Singapore, you will take full ownership of the Thailand entity's finance function, playing a hands-on role across the full spectrum of accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and finance operations.
You will be the key finance representative on the ground in Thailand, working in a driven and innovative team contributing to the production of new, clean energy sources that are ultimately helping to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
Role Summary
- Oversee and hands-on manage the full spectrum of Thailand entity accounting and reporting processes, including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates, statutory compliance, and elimination of intercompany balances for group consolidation purposes.
- Personally prepare and take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Group Finance team in Singapore and other corporate finance team members to achieve accurate and timely results.
- Perform and review foreign currency reasonableness calculations/proofs.
- Establish, develop, and maintain process and controls documentation for the Thailand entity.
- Lead the preparation of necessary audit schedules to support the financials and footnote disclosures.
- Lead analytical reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, providing insights and commentary to the Group Finance Manager.
- Work with the Group Finance team in Singapore to align accounting policies and procedures for the Thailand entity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors in Thailand for periodic financial reviews, controls testing and other inquiries.
- Meet all statutory reporting deadlines in a timely manner.
- Participate in special projects as deemed necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/ Finance/ Economics.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional) preferred; CPA qualification required.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant finance and accounting experience in the Commodity/ Manufacturing/ Logistics industry, with at least 3 years in a finance management or senior finance role.
- Strong working knowledge of multi-currency transactions and related impacts on financial statements.
- Excellent verbal / written communication skills in English; proficiency in Thai is required to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and government authorities.
