Role Summary
We are hiring a hands-on, pragmatic finance leader to run day-to-day finance execution operating in a complex environment (multi-business interfaces, material cash balances, SAP S/4HANA, and frequent interaction with regional/global stakeholders).
Will lead a small local finance/accounting team, own accounting/closing/compliance/banking end-to-end, drive SAP S/4HANA stability and discipline in daily operations, and act as a steady finance counterpart to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Ownership & Month-End Closing
- Own the full accounting cycle for the Thailand entity, ensuring accurate and timely month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing.
- Ensure quality of P&L and balance sheet, including reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and documentation standards.
- Maintain strong internal controls and clear audit trails.
Compliance, Statutory & External Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements (tax filings, statutory accounts, regulatory submissions as applicable).
- Manage external audits end-to-end (planning, coordination, issue resolution, final sign-off).
- Partner with regional finance on governance requirements, reporting standards, and policy adherence.
Treasury & Banking (End-to-End)
- Own banking operations, cash management, payments governance, and liquidity visibility.
- Ensure robust approval controls and mitigate single-point dependencies in payment and cash processes.
- Maintain effective relationships with banks and support financing/guarantees if required.
SAP S/4HANA Operational Discipline
- Drive stability and daily discipline in SAP S/4HANA finance operations (master data hygiene, posting quality, closing routines, issue triage).
- Be the local go-to finance process owner for SAP usage and adherence; coordinate with regional/global teams for fixes and improvements.
- Ensure the team follows standard workflows and maintains consistent data integrity.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a steady, trusted finance counterpart to the Managing Director: provide practical insights, risk flags, and grounded recommendations.
- Interact confidently with regional and global finance stakeholders; ensure local execution remains strong while aligning to governance.
- Translate finance requirements into clear, workable actions for local teams and cross-functional partners.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, coach, and organize a small finance/accounting team; create clarity on roles, priorities, and routines.
- Strengthen team structure to reduce key-person dependency and ensure continuity of operations.
- Embed a culture of accountability, calm execution, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 815+ years in accounting/finance with ownership of closing, statutory, tax coordination, and treasury/banking in Thailand.
- Prior experience leading a small team in a hands-on environment (mid-size entity, complex interfaces, lean resources).
- Solid exposure to audits (Big4 experience is a plus but not required).
- Strong ERP background; SAP S/4HANA experience highly preferred (or SAP ECC with proven process discipline and ability to adapt).
- Experience with international finance reportings.
Competencies
- Hands-on and pragmatic: willing to roll up sleeves while keeping structure and standards.
- Mature judgment and calm execution under pressure; able to prioritize and stabilize operations.
- Strong stakeholder management across local MD, auditors, banks, and regional/global finance.
- Control mindset with a make it workable approach (practical controls, not bureaucracy).
- Extrovert personality
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA is a plus.
