Forward Deployed AI Engineer

We are seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to shape and drive our technology vision while

ensuring strong execution at the team level. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you will not only set the roadmap for AI-driven solutions and technology enablement but also provide guidance on workforce planning and capability-building within the engineering team. You will serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on how technology can unlock growth, while still rolling up your sleeves to support coding and solution delivery when needed.

As part of our growing food-tech startup, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming the way technology and AI empower the food industry, enhancing efficiency, user experience, and long-term scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the company's technology and AI vision, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Assess team capacity, structure, and skillsets; advise stakeholders on manpower planning and optimal resource allocation.
• Oversee the development of scalable software solutions, infrastructure, and data systems.
• Establish and maintain technical standards, best practices, and robust security protocols.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering and AI team.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive digital innovation and business transformation.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Be hands-on as needed—supporting code reviews, prototyping, and problem-solving alongside the team.

Qualifications:

• 5-7+ years of experience in senior technology or engineering leadership roles, ideally with exposure to AI, machine learning, or data-driven product development.
• Strong track record in scaling technology infrastructure and teams to support rapid business growth.
• Proven ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical execution.
• Experience advising stakeholders on tech enablement and workforce planning.
• Strong coding background (e.g., Python, Node.js, or similar) and willingness to contribute directly when needed.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to bridge technical and business priorities.
• Startup or high-growth environment experience is a strong plus—must be adaptable, resourceful, and thrive in ambiguity.
