Forward Deployed Engineer

At Vetraeus, we are looking for a Junior-to-Mid level engineer who wants to move past just coding and start building systems that run real businesses. This isn't a role where you're thrown into the deep end alone. You will start by learning, shadowing, and assisting our senior technical leaders as we deploy a major Vision AI and ERP project for a hospitality group in Thailand.

We want an AI-Native Developer: someone who uses LLMs and Co-pilots to move fast, allowing them to focus on understanding the big picture of how business operations and software intersect.

Your first few months are about immersion. You aren't expected to be an expert on day one; you are expected to be an expert observer.

• Shadow the AI Researchers: You will work directly with our Lead AI Researcher to see how R&D becomes a production-ready Digital Supervisor. You'll help build the Python hooks that turn AI detections into data.
• Collaborate with Industrial Engineers (IE): You will work with our IE Supply Chain team to understand why we are building these workflows. You'll learn how a physical restaurant operation is translated into a digital dashboard.
• Learn the How and Why: By working across these teams, you'll learn to identify when a system isn't working properlynot just because of a code error, but because of an operational friction point.

• The Build (Weeks 1-8): Use AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to rapidly prototype and assist in R&D. Your goal is modularitybuilding clean, reusable code that bridges our AI middleware with Odoo 19.
• The Resilience Check: You'll learn how to Thai-proof a system, ensuring the tech stays up even when local networks or hardware fail.
• The Handover (Post-May 1st): Having shadowed the build from the ground up, you will become the primary System Owner, confident in your ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and scale the architecture.

• AI as your Co-pilot: We expect you to use AI to write boilerplate and debug logic. This frees you up to think about the System Architecture and Business Logic.
• Modular Discipline: While you use AI to move fast, you'll be mentored on how to keep your code modular and readable so the entire team can support it.
• Observability: You will learn to build and monitor health checks so you are the first to know when the system needs attention.

• The Fast-Follow Learner: You might not know Odoo or Computer Vision yet, but you are a strong Python developer who can learn new stacks at 10x speed using AI tools.
• The Systems Thinker: You are curious about how businesses work. You want to know why a Purchase Order matters just as much as an API Endpoint.

• Technical Baseline: Proficiency in Python and SQL (Postgres). A desire to master Odoo and Enterprise Integration.
