We are currently seeking a proficient and detail-oriented subtitle translator to join our team.
The candidate will be responsible for translating and proofreading Korean and/or Putonghua dialogue and text for TV dramas, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate and proofread dialogue and text from Korean and/or Putonghua drama into English and/or Traditional Chinese and/or Simplified Chinese.
- Produce high-quality subtitles that maintain the tone, context, and intent of the original content.
- Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting across episodes and series.
- Conduct research to verify proper names, idiomatic expressions, and cultural references.
- Collaborate with editors to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree, major in translation, language is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Korean and/or Putonghua; TOPIK Level 6 for Korean translation
- Excellent command of English and/or Traditional Chinese, and/or Simplified Chinese
- At least 3 years of experience in subtitle translation and proofreading
- Strong attention to detail and cultural nuance
- Familiarity with subtitling software and tools is an advantage.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Willing to work in shift schedule
