Tour Guide
Core Responsibilities
- Lead FIT, Cruise and Leisure groups and individuals on cultural, historical, and sightseeing tours across Thailand.
- Provide engaging commentary, storytelling, and explanations about Thai history, culture, landmarks, cuisine, and local customs.
- Ensure guests safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout the tour.
- Manage tour logistics such as timing, transportation coordination, meeting points, and schedule adjustments.
- Handle guest questions professionally and offer recommendations for activities, dining, and local experiences.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, local vendors, and other tourism partners.
- Assist with check-ins, ticketing, and entry procedures at attractions.
- Collect and manage guest feedback, report issues or incidents to supervisors.
- Promote responsible tourism and respect for Thai cultural norms and environmental guidelines.
- Follow company SOP policies, safety standards, and legal requirements for guiding in Thailand.
For New / Entry-Level Tour Guides
- Deliver preprepared tour scripts and basic cultural information.
- Support lead guides in group coordination and logistics.
- Learn and apply Thai tourism guidelines and customer service standards.
- Maintain punctuality, professional appearance, and a positive attitude.
- Assist in resolving minor guest issues or questions.
For Experienced Tour Guides
- Create customized tour experiences tailored to guest interests.
- Lead complex, multi-day tours with full responsibility for planning and execution.
- Handle VIP guests, special-interest groups, and higher service expectations.
- Train and mentor junior tour guides.
- Provide deeper cultural, historical, and regional insights with high storytelling skill.
- Manage crisis situations such as itinerary changes, weather disruptions, or guest emergencies.
- Support the company with product development and new route design.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service mindset and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Thai culture, geography, attractions, and local etiquette.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and manage long walking/standing periods.
- Language skills: English and additional languages a plus.
- Valid Thai Tour Guide License (Silver Card) depending on type of tour.
