About the client

This client is a well-established financial services organization undergoing a large-scale technology modernization initiative. The company is rebuilding a two-decade-old partnership accounting platform used to manage investor subscriptions, redemptions, fee calculations, and partnership payouts for a global fund administration business. Its engineering organization is distributed across offices in New York, Dublin, Miami, and Bangalore, and it places strong emphasis on an ownership-driven engineering culture, close collaboration across time zones, and the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering productivity.

About the role

This is a Senior Software Engineer role focused on modernizing a mission-critical partnership accounting platform end-to-end. You will work across the full stack, with deep ownership of Microsoft SQL Server database design, optimization, and performance tuning, alongside Python-based business logic and Angular frontend contributions. You will collaborate with a small, high-impact, globally distributed engineering team, participate in architecture and design decisions, and use AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and mentor teammates. This is an on-site position based in Bangalore, working closely with a global Finance Technology team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core services for the platform, contributing across both backend and frontend components.
• Own complex database development using Microsoft SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, and data integrity across financial workflows.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, and well-tested business logic using Python and object-oriented design principles.
• Contribute to Angular frontend architecture and implementation as required.
• Build and deploy applications within Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (such as Codex and similar platforms) to improve engineering productivity and mentor teammates in adopting these tools.
• Collaborate closely with a distributed engineering team across Bangalore, New York, Dublin, and Miami.
• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture decisions, and scaling strategies as the Bangalore team grows.

Must have skills

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (mandatory), including database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Professional experience with Python..
• Experience working across both backend and frontend technologies in full-stack development environments.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools (the client uses Claude and Cursor).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.

• Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.

This is a 12 months contract for one of our clients (Will be converted to Full time employee after 12 months)
