Job Summary
The General Manager will lead daily operations, commercial performance, team management, and business development, acting as the key liaison between Singapore, China, and other overseas teams to drive growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the company's overall business strategy and daily operations in Singapore to achieve growth targets.
- Manage sales performance by monitoring budgets, controlling operating costs, and optimizing profitability.
- Develop and expand the local and international pre-owned luxury business through strategic initiatives.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and sales channels to increase market presence.
- Oversee purchasing, authentication, inventory management, logistics, and order fulfilment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Coordinate procurement, inventory planning, pricing, shipments, documentation, payments, and operational matters with the China counterpart.
- Facilitate clear communication and timely execution among Singapore, China, and other overseas teams.
- Manage import and export processes, including customs documentation, permits, and GST compliance.
- Resolve cross-border operational and commercial issues promptly to maintain smooth business flow.
- Establish, review, and enhance standard operating procedures and internal controls to improve operational effectiveness.
- Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop the Singapore team to build a high-performing workforce.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, logistics providers, and business partners to support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore laws, regulations, and company policies to mitigate risks.
- Prepare and present regular operational, commercial, and financial reports to senior management for informed decision-making.
- Perform additional management duties as required to support the company's expansion and success.
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin to facilitate effective communication with China counterparts and international teams.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience coordinating with China-based teams, suppliers, or business partners to support cross-border operations.
- Knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and cross-border trade to enhance operational management.
- Existing eligibility to work in Singapore to ensure legal compliance for employment.
