Role Overview
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading end-to-end business operations of a technology-driven EdTech platform, ensuring seamless execution across product, engineering, content, and growth functions.
This role requires a strong operator with a background in tech organizations, capable of managing cross-functional teams, optimizing processes, and driving scalable execution. The GM will ensure that product delivery, platform performance, and business operations are aligned to deliver high-quality learning experiences and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Operations Management
- Own and manage daily business operations across all core functions
- Translate strategy into clear execution plans, priorities, and timelines
- Identify operational gaps and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure alignment and smooth collaboration across teams
Product & Engineering Operations
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to drive execution of roadmap
- Ensure on-time delivery of features, releases, and platform improvements
- Improve development workflows, sprint execution, and delivery predictability
- Balance speed, quality, and technical scalability
Platform & Service Performance
- Ensure platform reliability, usability, and performance standards
- Monitor operational metrics and system performance
- Collaborate with tech teams to resolve issues and improve user experience
Content & Learning Delivery
- Oversee content production and delivery operations
- Ensure alignment between product, academic, and content teams
- Improve efficiency and scalability of content workflows (including AI adoption)
Growth & Customer Experience
- Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to support user acquisition and activation
- Ensure smooth end-to-end customer journey and experience
- Support retention and engagement through operational excellence
Financial & Performance Oversight
- Support P&L management, budgeting, and cost optimization
- Track business KPIs and drive data-informed decisions
- Ensure efficient resource allocation across teams
Team & Execution Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams with strong execution discipline
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Establish clear operating rhythms (OKRs, sprint reviews, performance tracking)
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in technology, platform, or digital product companies
- Strong background in operations, program management, or general management
- Solid understanding of product development and engineering workflows
- Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Data-driven mindset with ability to track and improve performance
