The GM is responsible for all non-academic operations of the School and will work closely with Thai and
expatriate staff to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery. A major part of the role is improving
communication and operational culture, particularly as most operational staff members are Thai. The GM
must ensure that processes are culturally appropriate, clearly communicated and consistently applied in a
timely manner.
The GM will oversee the Heads of Estates, Maintenance, Service Support, IT, the Medical Centre, external
contractors and the Commercial Manager. Duties will be carried out directly by the GM or delegated
appropriately to operational managers.
Key Responsibility
Cross-Entity Operational Coordination (Wisdom Valley Integration)
- Support the CEO in operational alignment across all Wisdom Valley projects.
- Coordinate shared services, standardise procedures and encourage cooperative and efficient use of
combined resources and skills.
- Participate in strategic meetings with the Family Office.
- Represent the School and its interests in Wisdom Valley meetings and developments.
- Ensure operational planning at RST aligns with a wider, regional-development agenda.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Provide strategic leadership and hands-on management of all operational departments.
- Be a key member of the School's Senior Leadership Team
- Promote strong communication and cultural alignment between Thai staff, expatriate staff, the School, and the Family.
- Strengthen operational SOPs, performance management and staff development.
- Ensure service standards are consistent and continuously improved.
- Ensure budgets are properly prepared and utilised working closely with the CFO.
- Ensure a high level of quality assurance and project management throughout the site.
- Hold the Department Heads to account for project management and effective delivery.
Estate & Facilities Management
- Line-manage the Head of Estates to achieve the following:
- Maintenance of the School's buildings, grounds, gardens and all-weather pitches to the required standard.
- All capital building projects completed to specifications, on time and within budget.
- Establishment of a programme of planned maintenance for all properties.
- Where possible, the introduction of initiatives to reduce the School's environmental footprint and energy consumption.
- In conjunction with the Principal, ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective allocation of staff housing.
- Ensure that the School's external security company operates effectively and consult with Senior Managers frequently to implement any changes that may be required.
- Ensure that adequate insurance cover is always in place.
- Attend PGV (Wisdom Valley) meetings to ensure a smooth working relationship
Service Support Management
- Line-manage the Head of Estates to achieve the following:

IT Management
- Line-manage the Director of IT to achieve the following:
- Work with the SLT to develop and implement an IT and communications strategy that will allow the effective provision of IT resources for all areas of the School's operations. Proper and efficient management of the IT staff to ensure that the IT facilities and services support the School in achieving its operational objectives.
- Assist with the meeting the requirements of data protection legislation.
- Manage the cost-effective purchasing, maintenance and disposal of IT hardware, software, communications equipment, printers, photocopiers and consumables.
- Ensure training, appraisals and SOPs are in place for the department.
Medical Centre Oversight
- Line-manage the Head of the Health Centre to achieve the following:
- Provision of the effective management of the School nurses and medical centres. Ensure training, appraisals and SOPs are in place for the department.
- Ensure that adequate student insurance cover is always in place.
Commercial Operations (WeVenture & Outdoor Education)
- Line-manage the Commercial Manager and Director of Outdoor Education to achieve the following: Delivery of rapid, profitable growth of WeVenture.
- Identify and deliver commercial ventures through capitalising on the School's assets and infrastructure.
- Identify, research and introduce new markets and revenue-earning opportunities. Effective management of the School's sports centres for both the School and external use. Effective management of the Director of Camps and Outdoor Education and upkeep and development of the Outdoor Education Centre.
Financial and Strategic Planning
- Work closely with the Governing Body, its Finance Committee, the Principal, CFO and the senior leadership of the School to establish, develop and achieve strategic financial objectives.
- In co-operation with the Senior Leadership, recommend to the Governing Body and its Finance Committee strategic and operational financial opportunities and threats.
- Ensure that the long-term strategic objectives of the School are reflected in detailed financial projections with regard to operational spending, CapEx, maintenance and refurbishments.
- Ensure that financial controls are robust and appropriate to the needs of the School and its related operational activities, including WeVenture (RST's commercial arm).
- In consultation with the Principal and SLT, produce detailed annual budgets for all areas of responsibility for consideration by the Governing Body and its Finance Committee.
- Preparation of long-term condition surveys and operational projections for the School and its related entities.
Safeguarding
- Promote and uphold all safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Act as part of the safeguarding leadership structure once trained.
- Ensure operational teams comply with all safeguarding expectations and procedures.
- Train to be the Operational Designated Safeguarding Lead and to attend the SPWC School meetingsand the termly GCS (Governance, Safeguarding and Compliance subcommittee) meetings.
- Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people w.ithinthe School.
- Uphold and promote all aspects of the Child Protection and Safeguarding policies.
- Act on aspects of student welfare and safeguarding raising any concerns by following School protocol/procedures.
The successful candidate will:
- Thai-speaking with strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proven senior management experience, ideally overseeing large or complex operations.
- Strong leadership, people management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working across diverse teams and cultures
- Strong financial awareness and ability to work with budgets and data
- Understand of estates, service operations, health & safety and compliance
- Ability to negotiate problem,-solve and manage multiple stakeholders
Experience and Qualities:
- Background experience in hotel or hospital management, where service standards, operational coordination and guest/patient care system are highly developed
- Experience working with family-owned enterprises or education institutions
- Experience managing multi-entity operations or shared services
- Knowledge of international school environments
- Strong cultural intelligence and diplomacy
