Job Description

About Our Client

Our client is a respected and well-capitalised manufacturing organisation with an established presence in Thailand and a strong reputation for quality, operational discipline, and customer partnership. The business operates in a competitive, standards-driven industry and has built a culture of continuous improvement and performance accountability. To support its next phase of growth, the organisation is seeking an exceptional operations leader to take full command of its manufacturing enterprise and deliver sustained business results.

Job Description

As the General Manager Operations, you will assume executive-level accountability for the full breadth of plant operations, translating business strategy into operational reality. You will unify and elevate the performance of core functions Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance while cultivating a leadership culture that is disciplined, commercially sharp, and relentlessly focused on results. This is a role for a leader who operates with both strategic clarity and the conviction to execute.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Hold full executive accountability for plant operations, ensuring every function is aligned to business strategy, operating with discipline, and delivering against defined performance commitments.
  • Partner with the Managing Director on strategic planning, business development, and organisational direction, serving as a principal voice in shaping the company's future.
  • Lead, integrate, and elevate the performance of Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance, building a cohesive leadership team that operates with shared purpose and mutual accountability.
  • Own and deliver targets across Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD), driving a culture where performance is measured, visible, and continuously improved.
  • Take full ownership of plant P&L — from budgeting and cost control through to financial forecasting and capital allocation — with direct accountability for business profitability.
  • Apply rigorous analysis of operational and financial data to inform strategic decisions, identify value creation opportunities, and address performance gaps with speed and precision.
  • Champion operational excellence through structured continuous improvement programmes, embedding lean thinking, waste elimination, and efficiency-driven behaviours across the organisation.
  • Uphold the highest standards of compliance across quality systems, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations, ensuring the organisation's reputation is protected and strengthened.
  • Develop, coach, and inspire a senior leadership team capable of driving the business independently, creating depth of talent and a succession-ready organisation.
  • Represent the organisation with authority and professionalism in all interactions with customers, investors, government bodies, and strategic partners.

Qualifications

You will be a high-calibre manufacturing executive with a commanding track record of leading complex operations, delivering commercial results, and building organisations that perform at the highest level.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or executive education is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive operations experience within a manufacturing environment, with significant exposure to the automotive sector strongly preferred.
  • Proven executive or senior plant leadership experience with full accountability for multi-functional operations and overall business performance.
  • Deep functional expertise across end-to-end manufacturing operations including Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Strong commercial acumen with direct experience owning P&L, managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving financial performance.
  • Consistent track record of delivering measurable, sustainable improvements across QCD, operational efficiency, and business profitability.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking combined with a decisive, execution-oriented leadership style and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Outstanding people leadership with a proven ability to build, inspire, and develop high-performing senior teams.
  • Sharp analytical capability and sound judgement, with a structured and evidence-based approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Unimpeachable professional integrity, personal accountability, and the gravitas to lead at executive level.
  • Highly effective communicator and relationship builder, with the ability to engage credibly across functions, cultures, and organisational levels.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

What's on Offer

  • Executive leadership mandate with full operational and strategic ownership of a significant manufacturing enterprise.
  • Highly competitive remuneration and executive benefits package.
  • A platform to leave a lasting impact on a growing, ambitious organisation with strong market standing.
  • Direct visibility with senior stakeholders and a clear trajectory toward broader executive responsibility.
