Position Overview:
The Global Data Platform (GDP) Team Lead is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and continuous enhancement of Caldic's Global Data Platform (GDP). This role ensures business data is transformed into scalable, reliable, and business-ready analytics solutions that support enterprise decision-making and drive business value.
Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, the GDP Team Lead translates business demand into data products, oversees analytics delivery, and ensures alignment with enterprise data architecture, data governance, and strategic priorities. As the Product Owner for the GDP, this role leads a team of Data Engineers and Analysts while fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the strategy, roadmap, and operating model for the Global Data Platform (GDP).
- Act as the Product Owner for the GDP, ensuring the platform delivers scalable, secure, and high-performing analytics capabilities.
- Oversee platform capabilities including data ingestion, transformation, data modelling, and analytics enablement.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of analytics use cases, from business demand through implementation and value realization.
- Prioritize analytics initiatives in collaboration with Data Product Owners and key business stakeholders.
- Drive the adoption of analytics solutions and measure business value generated from data investments.
- Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders and data platform teams, translating business requirements into effective data and analytics solutions.
- Lead Data Engineers, GDP Business Analysts, and external partners in designing and delivering robust data pipelines and integration solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration across ERP, CRM, MDM, and other enterprise systems while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Partner with Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Quality teams to ensure analytics solutions comply with governance policies, standards, and quality requirements.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing Analytics Management (GDP) team while promoting Agile and product-based delivery methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across the Global Data Platform.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Extensive experience leading Data & Analytics or Data Platform teams within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in data platforms, data engineering, business intelligence (BI), and analytics architectures.
- Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and integration architectures.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and enterprise data management principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams across business and technology functions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective data and analytics solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments and product-based delivery models.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to champion a data-driven culture and lead organisational change.
