Job Description

The Global EHS Program Manager serves as the primary Global EHS representative to the Integrated Management System (IMS) Central Program Office (CPO) and related corporate stakeholders. This role governs, harmonizes, and advances EHS programs across Manufacturing and R&D locations worldwide-driving successful ISO certifications/re-certifications, strengthening conformance to regulatory and other requirements, and delivering measurable, data-driven continual improvement in EHS performance.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, maintain program governance and documentation, coordinate audits, training and improvement initiatives, and ensure the effectiveness and integration of EHS programs within the broader IMS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) IMS Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent Global EHS within the IMS Central Program Office and core teams influence IMS strategies, standards, and procedures to reflect EHS best practices.
  • Critically review IMS/EHS programs with a focus on:
    • Value-add and risk reduction
    • Elimination of duplication/redundancy
    • Integration with existing programs and business processes
    • Cost-benefit and workload balance
    • Continual improvement and lifecycle maintenance
  • Periodically review Global EHS and IMS documented information for suitability, adequacy, appropriateness, and currency.
  • Engage and align with key stakeholders, including:
    • Quality, Legal, HR, Business Units & Location leadership, Global Sustainability, Global/Regional/Location EHS, and external stakeholders (regulatory agencies, external certification bodies, and customers).

2) Global EHS Program Management

  • Provide oversight, coordination, direction, and support to execute EHSprogram objectives and initiatives across global sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, update, and implement EHS policies, programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform program/technical reviews of new or revised EHS and IMS documentation resolve issues and make approval/disapproval recommendations to the Global EHS Director.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs/OKRs to evaluate program effectiveness drive datadriven decision andimprovements globally.
  • Coordinate internal/external audits in partnership with Global and location EHS, IMS CPO, GlobalSustainability,and key stakeholders manage findings, CAPAs, and closures.
  • Coordinate Global EHS training programs: competency matrices, content currency, delivery effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Lead communication and knowledge sharing on IMS, RBA, and EHS topics across Global EHS staff, site EHS teams, and internal/external stakeholders.

3) Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety Programs, Risk & Compliance

  • Develop, execute, and maintain global OHS/EHS programs (e.g., hazard identification & risk assessment, incident management, contractor safety, Management of Change, emergency preparedness and response, industrial hygiene/ergonomics, chemical/waste management, permits).
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate EHS risks organization-wide lead critical incident investigations and root cause analyses implement and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor compliance with global regulations, compliance obligations, and standards ensure conformance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 (and where applicable ISO 22301/BCMS) Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and futurerequirements.
  • Analyze incidents, near misses, nonconformities, findings and opportunity for improvements drive systemic improvements and share lessons learned.
  • Prepare and submit required EHS reports respond to customer and regulatory inquiries and requests.

4) Other Duties

  • Lead/participate in additional initiatives and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety/Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a closely related field is required. Advanced degrees are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive Environmental Health and Safety leadership experience in global, multi-site manufacturing and/or Research and Development environments is mandatory. This must include substantial program management and cross-functional leadership experience.

PREFERRED:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Integrated Management Systems and ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 50001) is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct and RBA audits (Validated Assessment Program or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in conducting rigorous audits, implementing robust programs, and executing effective change management processes is imperative.
  • Exceptional ability to influence stakeholders at both headquarters and site levels is critical. Superior written and verbal communication skills are necessary for engaging with global teams across multiple time zones.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced analytical capabilities and proficiency in data-driven decision-making are required.
  • Professional certifications are highly valued and may include: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and ISO Lead Auditor certifications (14001/45001/9001/50001).
  • Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of environmental health and safety practices in a global corporate environment.
