Global Head of Public Affairs

At East West Seed, we believe access to quality vegetable seeds and knowledge can transform the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers. As a family-owned international group with Dutch roots and headquarters in Thailand, we operate across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with this role based in either Bangkok or Amsterdam.

We are looking for a strategic and globally minded Global Head of Public Affairs to help strengthen our voice, influence policy conversations, and position East-West Seed as a trusted leader in sustainable horticulture and food systems.

In this role, you will lead our global public affairs strategy, build meaningful relationships with governments, industry associations, development partners, and key stakeholders, and help create an enabling environment for innovation and impact across the agriculture industry. This is a unique opportunity to shape industry dialogue while advancing a mission that improves the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and supports sustainable agriculture worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute East-West Seed's global public affairs strategy aligned with business and impact goals
• Build and strengthen relationships with governments, seed industry associations, development organizations, and strategic partners globally
• Monitor policy, regulatory, and geopolitical developments and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership
• Position East-West Seed as a thought leader in agriculture, food systems, and the vegetable seed industry
• Collaborate cross-functionally with communications, regulatory affairs, and local market teams to ensure consistent external engagement and messaging
• Represent East-West Seed at regional and international forums, conferences, and industry platforms

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, policy, stakeholder engagement, or related leadership roles in an international environment
• Experience working across regions or global organizations with strong exposure to policy and external affairs
• Background in agriculture, seed industry, agribusiness, or related sectors is preferred
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to influence, build partnerships, and navigate complex external environments
• University degree required; postgraduate degree is an advantage
