Global Supply Chain Manager - Semiconductor Industry
About the role.
The person will also support factory expansion projects in Thailand and lead critical supplier communications throughout Asia, tracking supplier corrective actions, support planning and aid negotiations, as well as support escalation requests and support formal supplier QBRs. The successful applicant will have experience in many areas, including manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day support and management of thermoelectric module contract manufacturer in Thailand.
- Facilitating POs placed between the principle and contract manufacturers to ensure alignment on finished goods and raw materials
- Identifying and monitoring supply chain risks
- Ensuring smooth implantation of engineering change orders (ECO) and understanding their impact to the supply chain, inventory, and deliveries
- Monitoring WIP and inventory to drive customer delivery commitments
- Day-to-day support of SE Asia suppliers that supply components for thermoelectric modules
- Expediting critical deliveries and tracking deliverables of supplier led improvement projects
- Occasional on-site support to escalate issues and help with corrective actions
- Support sourcing activities (i.e. identify and evaluate new suppliers) for thermal components such as heat exchangers, vacuum insulated panels, and ceramics.
- Issue and facilitate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)
- Negotiate directly with principles Asia-based suppliers
- Project manage cost savings initiatives with suppliers
- Help facilitate quarterly business reviews with CMs and key suppliers
- Work with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to support Supply Chain improvement initiatives
- Support company's ISO initiatives through continuous improvement, risk-based thinking, and auditing
- Strategic ownership
- Capacity & scalability strategy
- Cost structure & margin protection (BOM, labor, logistics, scrap)
- Risk posture (single source, geo risk, machine and material EOL, tooling, materials)
- Process Architect
- Material planning ownership (who does what, when)
- Change control triggers (ECO, EOL, supplier changes)
- Cost & Inventory Guardian
- CM BOM cost accuracy & change tracking
- Cost reduction roadmap (not one-off asks)
Location & commitments
- Location: Bangkok, Thailand, and On-site at the Contract Manufacturing Partner in Thailand
- Permanent employee // Full-time
- Travel to visit local Contract Manufacturing and suppliers in Asia, time-to-time, per assignment or work necessary.
Candidate requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in the management of contract manufacturers, global sourcing, and supplier management for a manufacturing environment.
- Results and detailed orientation, process rigor, supplier relationship management, cross-functional communication, hands-on, and accountability in a fast-moving environment.
- Reports to the Vice President of Global Operations and Quality, with close coordination across Operations, Quality, and Engineering.
- The ideal candidate should thrive in a lean organization, work closely with CM general managers, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. They must handle ambiguity and complexity effectively, as priorities and conditions change frequently.
- Thai speaking is a must.
