The Team
Due to tremendous demand within the region, we are looking to hire
Senior Associate / Associate level candidates (depending on experience) in our Global Trade Practice in Thailand. Our team advises on all aspects of international trade, customs and excise tax compliance and regulations, audit and investigation support, health checks and due diligence services, import/export controls, duty incentives and optimization, and cross-border supply chain strategies, among others. This position will lead and/or execute a diverse range of complex assignments as well as provide advice on cross-border transactions. The candidate will also work closely with our Transaction Advisory Group and Private Equity Performance Improvement Group to provide integrated due diligence to the world's largest and most high-profile corporate, private equity and financial investors.
How You Will Contribute
Trade & Tariff Advisory and Compliance
- Assist with customs and international trade advisory assignments, including customs valuation, tariff classification, rules of origin, free trade agreement utilization, and licensing controls.
- Support clients in managing customs, excise tax and international trade compliance, including documentation review and verification, and interaction with relevant authorities.
Operational Review and Performance Improvement
- Support health checks and due diligence projects for cross-border transactions, focusing on customs and trade risks.
- Provide audit and investigation support for clients facing regulatory inquiries or disputes.
Customs & Trade Controversy Support
- Participate in customs and trade audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Duty Incentive & Saving Opportunities
- Advise on duty incentives, optimization strategies, and supply chain efficiency improvements.
Other Responsibilities
- Contribute to business development and marketing activities related to customs and international trade matters, amplifying the A&M brand in Thailand.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree or Postgraduate degree in international trade, law, business, economics and/or related fields are preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in customs and international trade advisory or related areas.
- Fluent in English; additional language proficiencies will be an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of customs and international trade regulations, and import/export procedures and compliance.
- Experience with customs audits, excise tax matters, and cross-border supply chain management is highly valued.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client management skills.
