Job Description

Position: Group Accounting & Consolidation

Rank/Level: Deputy Department Manager

Location: SM Tower, Bangkok

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation process ensuring the results are complete and accurate and delivered timely to key stakeholders
  • Review accounting reconciliations and elimination entries
  • Manage intercompany reconciliation process, provide guidance to subsidiaries
  • Prepare the consolidated financial statements in compliance with TFRS and IFRS on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Oversee the global consolidation process and ensure the appropriate reviews of information submitted are performed
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of improvements for consolidation process as appropriate, to simplify, standardize and streamline the process
  • Develop and improve the financial reporting package in consolidation tool alongside training users on use of the system
  • Analyze impact on investment and divestment, investment structure changes
  • Resolve ad hoc accounting questions from colleagues around the world as they arise
  • Maintain thorough understanding of TFRS and IFRS and keep abreast of emerging accounting standards and disclosure requirements
  • Coordination with external auditors to provide audit supporting documentation
  • Performing other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting
  • 10 years of accounting - related work experience, including TFRS and IFRS accounting, consolidation of financial data, management and financial reporting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of TFRS and IFRS and ability to handle all aspects of journal entry processing
  • Understands requirements for documentation in financial statements disclosures
  • High attention to detail and timeliness with proven ability in managing timelines
  • Demonstrated abilities to prioritize and manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
  • Requires the ability to think critically, apply judgement and make fact-based accounting decisions within defined parameters
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving, communications skills, and work well in a team.
  • Excellent English in both oral and writing
