If you're a hands-on CI practitioner who wants to drive operational excellence at plant level inside a global organisation, there's a place here for you.
Location: Thai Union Group PLC — Samut Sakhon / Bangkok (with travel to ambient plants) Workplace Type: On-site / Field
Do you live and breathe Lean, TPM, and shopfloor improvement — and want to drive it across a world-class food manufacturing network
As Group Operational Excellence Section Manager, you will implement and sustain Operational Excellence standards, tools, and performance management systems across Thai Union's ambient manufacturing plants. This role sits within the Manufacturing COE and works directly with plant operations teams to embed CI culture, maintain OE playbooks, and roll out best practices that deliver measurable productivity and cost improvements.
What you will do:
- Track KPIs and conduct performance benchmarking analytics across Supply Chain and Operations — delivering visibility of productivity performance across all TU ambient manufacturing plants
- Implement and maintain Operation Performance Management Systems at line, department, and site levels; promote standard work and discipline in daily shopfloor operations
- Maintain OE standards, playbooks, toolkits, and maturity models across assigned ambient plants or production areas
- Support select CI initiatives with direct hands-on expertise and provide an outside-in perspective to plant operation teams
- Drive best practice sharing and a culture of continuous learning across Thai Union's ambient manufacturing network
- Establish and maintain the Group-wide Best Practice Repository covering SOPs, Work Instructions, and lessons learned across all end-to-end ambient processes
- Bring the repository to life through e-learning, e-academy, or SC Academy format to roll out training programs for both SC and non-SC professionals
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Logistics, or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Lean / TPM / Continuous Improvement / Focused Improvement, including basic OE tools such as line balancing, V-Curve, time & motion study, and problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, KPI-triggered problem statements)
- One of the following experience profiles:
- 5+ years in Supply Chain, Operations, or related functions in the FMCG industry with project management experience, or
- 5+ years of direct experience in food manufacturing (human or pet food) with project management experience, or
- 3+ years in seafood manufacturing plus 5+ years of management experience (any field) with project management experience
- Strong exposure to shopfloor operations in food, FMCG, or process industries
- Fluent in English — listening, speaking, and writing
Who you are:
- A shopfloor-first operator — you are most effective when you're on the floor, not behind a desk, observing, coaching, and driving change in real time
- A structured problem-solver who applies 5 Why, fishbone, and KPI-triggered diagnostics with discipline and consistency
- A confident communicator who can translate OE methodology into practical actions that plant teams understand and adopt
- A continuous learner and knowledge-sharer who builds the capability of those around you, not just your own
- Self-driven and accountable — you own your metrics, track your results, and follow through until improvement is sustained
