Job Description

Required:

Experience in designing, developing, and implementing automated hardware solutions that optimize manufacturing processes and reduce production costs

Role & Responsibility:

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated hardware solutions that optimize manufacturing processes and reduce production costs.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining automated assembly systems and integrating new technologies into existing systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation solutions to meet project objectives
  • Design and develop automated test systems for hardware products
  • Create test plans and procedures, execute tests and document results
  • Develop hardware and software interfaces for test equipment
  • Design and develop automated assembly and production equipment
  • Integrate new technologies into existing systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems
  • Oversee equipment vendors in running Factory acceptance tests (FAT)
  • Setup and run Design of Experiments (DOE) at equipment vendors site to validate equipment performance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in hardware automation

Good to have:

  • Primarily Mechanical design (CAD) and having electrical context.
  • Fixture automation electrical wiring
  • Understanding underlying impacts on fixture design of electrical requirements from TE
  • Vendor management
  • Be able to field late requests and work independently to resolve the requests
  • Programming knowledge would be nice.

Required Skill:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware automation engineering
  • Strong experience in developing automated test systems and production equipment
  • CAD experience in Solidworks or similar
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and wiring
  • Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C#
  • Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as GPIB, USB, Ethernet, and RS-232
  • Experience with control systems and data acquisition systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
