Role summary

This role owns financial reporting, accounting operations, cash management, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls, ensuring the company maintains financial accuracy, discipline, and operational excellence as it grows.

Working closely with the founders and business leaders, this role establishes the systems, processes, and governance needed to support a rapidly scaling business. The Founding Finance Lead also plays a key role in fundraising readiness, investor reporting, audits, and ensuring the company is prepared for future growth milestones.

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a builder mindset, bringing structure, rigor, and reliability to a fast-moving startup environment.

What you'll own

• Own and scale Matchii's accounting and finance operations, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting.
• Establish and improve accounting policies, internal controls, governance frameworks, and finance operating procedures as the company grows.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory partners.
• Support budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial visibility to ensure operational discipline and sustainable growth.
• Identify tax optimization opportunities and work with advisors to develop efficient tax and corporate structures across jurisdictions.
• Prepare the financial foundations required for fundraising, international expansion, audits, and future corporate milestones.
• Build scalable finance systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure that can support Matchii's growth from startup to global company.

Who we're looking for

• 6+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, audit, or corporate finance, preferably within startups, technology companies, or multinational organizations.
• Strong understanding of Singapore accounting standards, tax regulations, payroll, compliance, and corporate governance requirements.
• Experience working with cross-border entities, regional operations, or multi-country financial structures is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audits, and external stakeholder management.
• Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, tax planning, or international expansion initiatives.
• Highly proficient in leveraging AI tools to improve financial operations, reporting, analysis, documentation, compliance workflows, and productivity.
• Ability to establish scalable finance processes, controls, and reporting systems in a fast-growing environment.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of balancing compliance requirements with business practicality.
• Excited to help build the financial, tax, and operational foundations that support Matchii's regional and global expansion.
• CFA or CPA certification is required.
