Job Description: Head of Accounting
Position Overview: Head of Accounting is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization&aposs accounting functions, ensuring compliance with PAE and IPO standards. This position is key in guiding the company through pre-IPO transformation, ensuring adherence to financial and accounting requirements for a public company. The EVP - Accounting will lead efforts to transition from standard accounting practices to IPO-ready financial reporting and closing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Lead and manage the accounting department to align with the organizations IPO objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with PAE and public company accounting standards.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on accounting policies, regulatory changes, and IPO readiness.
- IPO Preparation:
- Drive the transformation of financial closing and reporting processes to meet IPO requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and other relevant standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all financial aspects of the IPO process are managed effectively.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing accounting team capable of meeting the demands of a public company.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial advisors to ensure seamless coordination during the IPO process.
- Partner with other departments, including Finance, Legal, and Investor Relations, to achieve IPO and post-IPO objectives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for investors and stakeholders regarding financial and accounting matters.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification required. Masters degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in pre-IPO preparation and transitioning to public company accounting standards.
- Strong knowledge of PAE standards, SEC regulations, and IPO requirements.
- Experience in financial consolidation, reporting, and performance analytics.
