Our client is a leading Real estate asset management group dedicated to generating long-term value.
Role Purpose
The Head of Business Operations will be responsible for running and strengthening the core operating engine of the business. This role is focused on execution, control, and scale, ensuring that backend processes, legal workflows, asset management operations, and people management function efficiently and consistently.
In addition to operational leadership, he/she will play a key supporting role in investment strategy during the acquisition of new portfolios, working closely with the CEO to assess execution feasibility, recovery strategy, and operational risks before investment decisions are made.
This person will act as the CEO's execution partner, translating strategy into disciplined operational outcomes across the AMC platform.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Own end-to-end operational execution across asset management, legal, valuation support, collections, and sales coordination.
- Manage and develop an operations organisation of 30+ staff, including managers and team leads.
- Drive accountability, performance tracking, and delivery against operational KPIs.
AMC & Backend Process Management
Oversee and continuously improve backend processes, including:
- Asset onboarding and portfolio setup
- Legal case tracking and documentation workflows
- Settlement approval processes
- Asset valuation coordination
- Disposal and monetisation tracking
- Ensure processes are scalable, compliant, and well-documented.
Real Estate Litigation Oversight
Provide senior oversight on real estate litigation and enforcement processes in Thailand, including:
- Coordination with internal and external legal teams
- Court processes, execution, and auction timelines
- Settlement negotiations and borrower resolution strategies
- Ensure cases progress efficiently and bottlenecks are addressed early.
Investment & Portfolio Acquisition Support
- Work closely with the CEO during new portfolio acquisition and investment evaluation.
- Assess operational feasibility, legal complexity, recovery timelines, and execution risks of potential acquisitions.
- Provide input on portfolio strategy, resolution approaches, and resource requirements prior to investment committee decisions.
- Support due diligence from an operational and execution standpoint, ensuring alignment between investment assumptions and on-the-ground reality.
Cross-Functional Execution
- Partner with asset managers and sales leadership to ensure assets move efficiently from acquisition through resolution and exit.
- Ensure alignment between legal outcomes, asset strategies, and commercial timelines.
Process Improvement & Governance
- Identify operational gaps and areas to push for better results (cycle time, recovery rate, cost control).
- Implement standard operating procedures, reporting dashboards, and escalation frameworks.
- Support management and board reporting on operational performance and execution risk.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience - 10+ years in operations-heavy roles within:
- Asset Management Companies (AMCs)
- Banks (special assets, recovery, or operations)
- Real estate platforms with litigation exposure
- Strong understanding of real estate litigation and enforcement in Thailand.
- Proven experience managing large operational teams.
- Prior AMC experience is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
- Banking operations or special assets background is acceptable if litigation exposure is strong.
