Head of Commercial Finance (International business)
The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the overall financial strategy, planning, performance management, and governance of a global business unit. Acting as a key business partner to senior leadership, this role provides strategic financial insights, drives business performance, and supports sustainable growth through effective planning, analysis, and decision support.
This position requires strong international exposure and experience working within a multinational environment, with responsibility for leading finance teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Partner with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and commercial initiatives.
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, and key projects through financial analysis and business case development.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to enhance business performance.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Monitor business performance against financial targets and key performance indicators.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis, management reporting, and actionable recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, reporting quality, and financial visibility.
Financial Governance & Operational Excellence
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and governance standards are maintained.
- Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the implementation of systems, tools, and best practices that strengthen financial reporting and decision-making capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles such as Finance Director, Head of Finance, FP&A Director, Commercial Finance Director, or equivalent.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, business performance management, commercial finance, and strategic business partnering.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing stakeholders across multiple countries within a multinational organization.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insights into business actions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience operating in a complex, fast-paced, and international business environment.
- Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultures and regions.
