A Regional Wholesale Bank is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead its Compliance function. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the bank's regulatory compliance framework, providing advisory support to business stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, regulators, and regional teams to strengthen the bank's compliance culture while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Compliance function across multiple Asia markets.
- Develop, implement and maintain the bank's compliance policies, procedures and control framework.
- Provide regulatory compliance advisory to business units and senior management on applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage regulatory engagements, inspections and examinations, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the bank's operations.
- Oversee compliance monitoring, compliance risk assessments and thematic reviews.
- Ensure timely regulatory reporting and escalation of compliance-related matters.
- Promote a strong compliance culture through training and awareness programmes.
- Manage and develop the regional Compliance team.
- Partner with Head Office and regional stakeholders on compliance initiatives, projects and policy implementation.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and other ad hoc projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of Compliance experience within Wholesale Banking or Corporate Banking.
- Proven leadership experience managing regional Compliance teams.
- Strong knowledge of MAS regulations and regional regulatory frameworks.
- Experience engaging directly with regulators and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
