Job Description

Work Scope: The Head of Engineering – Asia is responsible for managing all Engineering and NPI functions across the region, ensuring the organization has the required capacity, capability, systems, and leadership structures to support manufacturing operations and business growth. This role provides strategic and technical leadership across Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, Process Automation, Maintenance, Utilities, Plant Engineering, and Project Engineering. It also drives digital transformation initiatives, including factory automation, Industry 4.0 implementation, manufacturing digitalization, and Digital Twin technologies to enhance operational efficiency, data-driven decision making, and smart manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and manage regional engineering teams across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Build high‑performance engineering organizations capable of supporting complex EMS manufacturing environments.
  • Drive engineering governance, standardization, and best practices across Asia operations.
  • Ensure strong collaboration between engineering, operations, supply chain, and business unit leadership.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Ensure engineering readiness for complex product launches across EMS manufacturing programs.
  • Partner with customers, R&D teams, and business units to accelerate product industrialization.
  • Optimize NPI processes to reduce time‑to‑market and improve production ramp‑up efficiency.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve plant productivity, quality performance, and operational reliability.
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives through process improvement, automation, and engineering innovation.

Executive Leader Contribution

  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team shaping the strategic direction of the organization
  • Provide technical leadership in customer engagements.
  • Lead engineering capability development to support future technologies and manufacturing expansion

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Build and mentor strong engineering leadership teams across Asia.
  • Develop technical talent pipelines and succession planning for critical engineering roles.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance

Smart Factory and Automation

  • Lead factory automation programs to improve productivity and reduce manual dependency.
  • Utilize AI and advanced analytics for production optimization, yield improvement, and predictive maintenance.
  • Drive digital manufacturing initiatives, including real‑time dashboards, manufacturing analytics, and smart decision systems
  • Support in Process Automation and Digitalization

Qualification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

• 15+ years of leadership experience in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) or high‑tech manufacturing.

• Extensive experience managing multi‑site engineering operations.

• Strong expertise in SMT, PCB assembly, advanced manufacturing processes, and industrial automation.

• Proven experience implementing Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, or smart factory programs.

• Experience with manufacturing systems integration, including MES, ERP, and data analytics platforms.

• Demonstrated success in driving productivity improvements and automation initiatives.

• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and global customers.

• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and change leadership skills
