Position Overview:
The Head of Fraud is responsible for leading the fraud management function across the organization. This role focuses on developing and executing strategies to detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities, ensuring the company's assets and reputation are protected. The position oversees teams responsible for fraud monitoring, investigation, and policy development, and collaborates with other departments to strengthen fraud risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fraud prevention and detection strategy.
- Lead and manage teams responsible for fraud monitoring, investigation, and policy setting.
- Oversee transaction monitoring and analysis to identify and address suspicious activities.
- Direct thorough investigations of suspected fraudulent activities, ensuring proper resolution and documentation.
- Stay up to date with evolving fraud trends, technologies, and regulations, and recommend proactive solutions.
- Work closely with compliance, legal, IT, and operations to strengthen controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare reports on fraud incidents, trends, and mitigation activities for senior management and relevant authorities.
- Cultivate a high-performing team with strong skills in fraud detection and investigation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field such as Finance, Business, Risk Management, or Information Technology.
- Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in fraud management within financial services, fintech, or technology sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience building or managing teams.
- Strong knowledge of fraud detection tools, investigative techniques, industry standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFE, CAMS) are an advantage.
