Head of Hospitalization Claim Team

About the Role

The Head of Hospitalization Claim Team plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of hospitalization claims. This position leads a team of specialized nurses, oversees admissions, discharges, and concurrent reviews, and collaborates closely with healthcare providers to maintain service excellence, optimize patient care, and support effective cost management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of nurses responsible for hospitalization claims processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to issue guarantee of payment letters and manage the concurrent review process to support quality patient care and cost efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives to identify cases involving undisclosed medical conditions during underwriting and collaborate with the Special Investigation Unit for further review.
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved by maintaining prompt response times to hospital inquiries and reducing admission and discharge wait times.
  • Develop and manage shift schedules to ensure continuous service coverage, 365 days a year, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve team performance, workflows, and operational procedures to enhance customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Logical and sound decision-making ability.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Outgoing personality with a positive attitude and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
  • Service-minded with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Computer literacy.
