The Head of IT will be responsible for stabilising, standardising, and modernising Enterprise IT operations across a multi-country horticulture business operating in Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Australia, and Japan.
This role reports directly to the CTO and oversees the group's Enterprise IT landscape, including infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, end-user computing, corporate applications, and ERP platforms.
The company currently operates with fragmented systems due to business expansion and acquisitions. The Head of IT will lead a low-risk, phased IT consolidation and ERP transformation strategy across the region.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational execution, vendor management, and close collaboration with Finance and Operations teams. The role will manage approximately 10 IT staff across multiple countries and requires frequent travel within Asia.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Infrastructure & End-User Computing
- Standardise infrastructure across the group including networks, connectivity, devices, operating systems, and identity management
- Lead migration toward a unified enterprise technology stack
- Establish and enforce group-wide standards for:
- Hardware procurement
- Software licensing
- Network topology
- Remote access and connectivity
- Ensure stable and reliable IT support across offices, production sites, and remote operational environments
2. Cybersecurity, Risk & Business Continuity
- Implement cybersecurity controls including:
- Identity and access management
- Endpoint protection
- Network security
- Email and phishing protection
- Establish backup, disaster recovery, and recovery testing processes
- Work closely with the CTO to prioritise IT risks based on business and financial impact
- Ensure compliance with local data protection and regulatory requirements
- Manage cybersecurity vendors and external consultants
3. ERP Rationalisation & Legacy Systems Migration
- Own and drive the group ERP roadmap in partnership with Finance and Operations
- Assess current ERP systems across countries and define future-state architecture
- Lead phased ERP migration projects while minimising operational disruption
- Oversee retirement of legacy systems and custom-built applications
- Ensure financial data integrity, auditability, and historical accuracy during migration
- Manage ERP vendors, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders
4. IT Governance & Vendor Management
- Establish group-wide IT governance policies and architectural standards
- Define decision-making frameworks for:
- New system adoption
- Vendor selection
- Custom development vs configuration
- Rationalise vendor contracts and improve IT cost visibility
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities with the CTO
- Maintain proper documentation, asset management, and lifecycle tracking
5. Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead and coordinate IT teams across multiple countries
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and operational guidance
- Introduce standard operating procedures and shared tools
- Drive consistent ways of working across regional teams
- Build a culture focused on accountability, reliability, and service excellence
6. Stakeholder Management & CTO Partnership
- Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership on:
- ERP strategy
- Financial controls
- Risk management
- Cost optimisation
- Communicate technical concepts in business-friendly language
- Advise management on risks, priorities, timelines, and implementation sequencing
- Ensure IT transformation initiatives align with organisational readiness and operational capacity
Requirements
- Strong experience leading Enterprise IT operations across multiple countries
- Experience managing:
- Infrastructure

- Proven background in ERP migration and legacy system transformation
- Experience within manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, or other operational/asset-heavy industries preferred
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on leadership style with practical execution capability
- Ability to lead regional and distributed IT teams
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable travelling frequently across Asia
