Job Overview:
The role of Legal Counsel & Compliance will lead 2C2P's legal of all markets and compliance in Thailand, while also supporting regional operations across Southeast Asia. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing legal risks, and providing strategic counsel to senior leadership. While the position is based in Thailand, we welcome candidates with legal and compliance experience in other jurisdictions across SEA or internationally, as cross-border expertise will be highly valuable in supporting 2C2P's regional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Leadership: Provide strategic legal counsel to senior management on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards in Thailand and other operating countries.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks across business operations.
- Cross-border Support: Advise on legal and compliance matters in other SEA jurisdictions, coordinating with external counsel where necessary.
- Regulatory Engagement: Liaise with regulators, government agencies, and industry associations to represent 2C2P's interests.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes when required.
- Law Enforcement Liaison: Represent the company with police and other authorities in case of disputes, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
- Policy Development: Establish and maintain internal compliance frameworks, policies, and training programs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present legal and compliance updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and the board.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LL.B/LL.M) or equivalent.
- 12+ years of experience in legal counsel and compliance roles, preferably within financial services, fintech, or payments.
- Minimum 45 years in a leadership role, managing legal and compliance teams.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Thai nationality with English legal experience is preferable
- Licensed to practice law in Thailand; additional qualifications in other jurisdictions are highly valued.
- Strong expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Experience handling cross-border legal in Southeast Asia or internationally.
- Proven ability to liaise with law enforcement and regulatory authorities to protect company interests.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience in fintech or payment services is highly desirable.
