The Head of Project Controlling is the gatekeeper for all new investments. This role provides strategic leadership in evaluating business viability, structuring deals, and mitigating risks.
- Lead the evaluation of all proposed investments in energy projects or new businesses. Steer the review process to ensure financial viability, corporate strategy alignment, and adherence to risk appetite, providing formal review summaries and recommendations to upper management.
- Facilitate the Project Committee meeting by challenging BD assumptions and resolving complex commercial and financial bottlenecks. Act as a gatekeeper by providing validation on BD proposals, ensuring accuracy and clarity for management decision-making.
- Drive the standardization of investment criteria and project controlling frameworks while continuing improvement of approval workflows and centralized systems (e.g., BD Platform) to establish a single source of truth and maintain a consistent standard of excellence across the organization.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including BD, Finance, Legal, Risk Management, Engineering and other teams—to execute seamless due diligence and ensure all project assumptions remain transparent, aligned, and fully compliant with company's investment criteria.
- Establish post-investment review framework to track actual project performance against initial BD assumptions. Identify performance gaps and collaborate with project execution teams to implement corrective actions, ensuring long-term financial health of the portfolio.
- Direct a lean, high-performing project controlling team, fostering a culture of versatility and high productivity. Mentor and elevate the technical capabilities of the team in advanced financial modeling, critical thinking, risk assessment and industry knowledge.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Development, Project Finance, Investment Analysis, or Project Controlling.
- Extensive background in energy, independent power producer (IPP), or renewable energy sectors is essential.

- Deep expertise in evaluating project feasibility project finance structuring and asset valuation within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of regional energy markets, cross-border investment frameworks, energy regulations, and key industry contracts including PPA, EPC contract, and O&M agreements.
- Exceptional analytical acumen to challenge assumptions and identify hidden financial or operational risks.
- Exceptional capability to present complex financial and technical data to management. Strong negotiation skills to manage expectations with the Business Development team.
- Strong capacity to mentor and elevate the analytical capabilities of the Project Controlling team.
