Head of Supply Chain Management

JOB PURPOSE

Lead the setup, stabilization and ongoing performance of outbound logistics and finished-goods warehousing for the new Birla Carbon plant at Rayong. The role is accountable for establishing and operating the ASRS and automated dispatch system, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safe warehouse operations, improving vehicle and loading productivity, and delivering reliable, on -time , cost-effective customer dispatches.

As the plant has commenced operations, the immediate priority is to create robust systems, standard processes, partner governance and team capability that can support production and sales ramp-up without warehouse or outbound logistics bottlenecks.

ROLE SCOPE

• Finished-goods receipt from packaging, storage, retrieval, staging and loading
• ASRS setup, integration, operating controls and stabilization
• Automated dispatch system setup, integration and process governance
• Finished-goods inventory accuracy, traceability and stock reconciliation
• Customer dispatch planning and outbound transport execution
• Transporter, 3PL, warehouse-contractor and logistics-service-provider management
• Outbound logistics cost, On Time Despatch, safety, compliance and continuous improvement

JOB CONTEXT AND MAJOR CHALLENGES

• Build disciplined warehouse and outbound logistics capability while dispatch volumes and grade complexity continue to increase.
• Set up and stabilize the ASRS and automated dispatch system, including workflows, controls, exception handling and integration with SAP and packaging operations.
• Establish accurate product identification, location control, batch traceability and reconciliation during the plant ramp-up.
• Deliver safe, damage-free and on-time customer dispatches while improving vehicle placement, truck turnaround, loading productivity and freight utilization.
• Develop dependable transport and logistics-service-provider capacity for changing customer and volume requirements.
• Create strong shop-floor discipline through clear SOPs, trained teams, visible KPIs and rapid corrective-action routines.

Education

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification or recognized certification is advantageous.

Experience

Typically 10+ years in outbound logistics and warehousing, including leadership responsibility in manufacturing. Experience establishing or stabilizing ASRS, warehouse automation or automated dispatch is strongly preferred.

Industry exposure

Carbon black, chemicals, tyres, automotive, FMCG, paints, bulk materials or process-manufacturing sectors with strong EHS and inventory controls.

Functional expertise

Finished-goods warehousing; ASRS; SAP/WMS; automated dispatch; inventory control; transport and 3PL management; dispatch operations; logistics costing and KPI governance.

Leadership capabilities

Ownership, execution discipline, customer focus, cross-functional influence, team building, contractor management, commercial awareness and structured problem solving.

Language and mobility

Strong business English. Thai capability is advantageous. Willingness to be based at the Rayong plant and travel as required.
