We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HSSE Assistant Manager (professional level by Law : Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Act. )

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated HSSE Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive heath, Safety, Security, and Environment systems to ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will promote a strong safety culture and provide strategic guidance to the leadership team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise company leadership/ general management on all environmental, health and safety aspects.
  • Implement environmental, health and safety standards, policies, and guidelines to ensure company operations are meeting the prevailing environmental and occupational health and safety applicable laws, regulations, and standards, as well as Company headquarter requirements.
  • Further develop awareness and safety culture throughout the organization to ensure safety practices are consistently implemented and maintained in the organization, with a zero work-related injury objective.
  • Facilitate site HSSE Committee and toolbox meetings.
  • Plan and perform periodic internal inspections and audits at respective locations to ensure environment and health & safety standards are adhered and recommend mitigation actions to be taken when necessary.
  • Ensure relationships and reporting to HSSE relevant authorities as required.
  • Manage the HSSE budget, including forecasting and reporting on expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety standards.
  • Prepare and communicate HSSE periodic reports and HSSE programs, including monthly HSSE performance reporting to headquarter and regional office.
  • Recommend for continuous HSSE improvement at the company.
  • Any HSSE-related assignment as deemed fit and necessary by the Management according to the company strategic priorities.

Key Experiences and Qualifications

  • Possess at least a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the HSSE position in Logistics industry, preferably with MNC background
  • Familiar with local occupational health & safety legal requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
  • Experience in handling HSSE related incidents from reporting, follow-through, insurance claims, to improvement action plans, etc.
  • Understand the transport industry and able to relate with shipping company and other associated industry managers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  • Proficiency in English
