Job Description

Albourne is seeking an Associate Analyst to join its Hedge Fund Investment Due Diligence team in Singapore. The role involves evaluating hedge fund managers across the Asia Pacific region, conducting independent research, and contributing to the firm's investment due diligence efforts. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop expertise through rigorous research and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Due Diligence

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of hedge funds across a range of investment strategies.
  • Participate in manager meetings and support investment due diligence to identify strengths, risks, and key investment considerations.
  • Produce clear, evidence-based written research and investment due diligence reports.
  • Monitor existing manager coverage and new emerging managers.
  • Develop informed perspectives on managers and strategies through continuous research and critical analysis.

Strategy Research

  • Analyze industry developments, market trends, and emerging investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategy research and thematic projects across the hedge fund landscape.
  • Utilize analytical tools and data to improve the depth, accuracy, and efficiency of research.

Team & Client Support

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues globally on research projects and client deliverables.
  • Support client-related research initiatives as required.
  • Take ownership of assignments and deliver work to a consistently high standard.

Key Requirements

  • We are particularly interested in candidates who are intellectually curious, take pride in developing domain expertise, and value learning, mentorship, and a collaborative company culture.
  • 1-3 years of experience in investment research, due diligence, manager selection, investment banking, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and investment concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex information and identify key risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to form independent views supported by evidence and analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Bloomberg or similar financial data platforms.
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to take ownership of work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality output under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • [Preferred] Progress toward or completion of CFA, CAIA, or other relevant professional qualifications.
  • [Preferred] Knowledge of hedge fund strategies and alternative investments.
