Job Summary
Responsible for leading and driving the organization's technical capability development strategy through a competency-based approach. This role focuses on enhancing the technical skills of Shop Floor and Engineering teams, establishing effective learning systems, and supporting business performance through capability building and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Capability Development
- Develop and implement technical capability development strategies aligned with business goals
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) based on Competency-Based frameworks
- Establish and manage Technical Competency Framework across the organization
- Lead engineering capability development initiatives and monitor progress
2. Learning & Development Management
- Develop and manage the annual technical training plan
- Design and develop technical training programs and learning channels (e.g., DOJO, On-the-Job Training, Learning Platforms)
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, including post-training performance and ROI
- Lead talent development initiatives such as Successor Programs for VP/GM levels
3. Training Operations & Execution
- Act as a trainer/facilitator for key technical programs when required
- Oversee training facilities, equipment, and learning resources
- Plan and control training budgets in alignment with monthly and annual plans
4. Governance, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all training and development activities are aligned with company policies and plans
- Review and validate departmental reports and performance outcomes
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and systems, such as: IATF 16949 / TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop the Technical Training/Development team
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, HR, and senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related fields
- Minimum of 8–12 years experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical training within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of Competency-Based Development, TPM, TQM, Lean Manufacturing
- Experience in DOJO or Training Center development is an advantage
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and project management skills
- Good command of English communication
