Human Resources Director

About the Company

Our client is a leading fire protection engineering and construction company with an established presence in Singapore. As the organisation enters an exciting stage of growth and prepares for Mergers & Acquisitions, Investments, Joint Ventures and Strategic Alliances, they are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the people strategy and build a robust HR function that supports business expansion, governance, and long-term success.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the HR Director will be a key member of the leadership team, partnering with senior management to develop a high-performing workforce while strengthening HR governance and organisational capability in preparation for becoming a listed company.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's Human Resources strategy aligned with business objectives and IPO readiness.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on organisational development, workforce planning and talent strategy.
  • Build a scalable HR function capable of supporting business growth and listed company governance requirements.
  • Drive organisational transformation, succession planning and leadership development initiatives.

HR Operations

Lead the full spectrum of Human Resources functions, including:

  • Talent Acquisition
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Performance Management
  • Learning & Development
  • Employee Engagement
  • Employee Relations
  • HR Policies & Compliance
  • Payroll oversight
  • HRIS and people analytics

IPO & Corporate Governance

  • Support the organisation through its IPO journey by establishing robust HR governance, policies and internal controls.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal and external consultants on HR due diligence, compliance and disclosure requirements.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with Singapore employment legislation and corporate governance standards.
  • Develop HR policies and reporting frameworks expected of a publicly listed company.

Construction Workforce Management

  • Oversee workforce planning across corporate and project/site-based employees.
  • Develop talent strategies to attract and retain technical, engineering and project management professionals.
  • Ensure HR practices support operational excellence across office and site environments.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to address manpower planning, productivity and workforce capability.

Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop the HR team.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative and safety-focused workplace culture.
  • Champion employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive Human Resources experience with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Experience leading the full spectrum of HR functions in a medium to large organisation.
  • Prior experience supporting an IPO/listing exercise or working within a publicly listed company is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the construction, engineering, fire protection, M&E, infrastructure, industrial or manufacturing sectors will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Employment Act, MOM regulations and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience building HR frameworks, governance and scalable people processes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will have a distinct advantage:

  • Successfully supported an organisation through an IPO or public listing.
  • Experience in SGX-listed companies or businesses preparing for listing.
  • Experience partnering with Boards, executive leadership and external advisors.
  • Familiarity with project-based workforce management.
  • Experience driving organisational transformation and change management.
  • Exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth organisations.
