Role: Human Resources Manager

Location: KAIA Koh Phangan, Thailand

Status: Full-time, On-site (Pre-Opening)

The Human Resources Manager will lead the HR function for KAIA Koh Phangan during the pre-opening and opening phases. This role is responsible for recruitment, training, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with Thai labour laws, while ensuring that all HR practices reflect KAIA's values and brand culture. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with the General Manager and corporate HR to build a positive, engaged, and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Opening

  • Implement and adapt corporate HR policies and procedures to the specific context of KAIA Koh Phangan, ensuring full compliance with Thai labour laws and regulations.
  • Execute the pre-opening recruitment plan: sourcing, interviewing, and hiring candidates for all positions required before opening.
  • Coordinate with corporate HR on the roll-out of the pre-opening training programme, ensuring all employees are trained on resort procedures, service standards, and KAIA brand values.
  • Establish and maintain HR systems for:
  • Employee data management
  • Payroll and benefits administration
  • Attendance and leave tracking
  • Performance management and probation reviews
  • Manage the pre-opening HR budget, monitor expenses, and report variances to corporate HR and the General Manager.
  • Support the development of the resort's culture and engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with KAIA's identity as a barefoot luxury brand.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Human Resources.
  • At least 2 years experience in a luxury or 5-star hotel is required.
  • Pre-opening experience in hotels or resorts is a strong advantage.

Skills

  • Strong computer literacy and excellent command of English.
  • Strong communication skills in Thai (spoken and written).
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to communicate and manage sensitive or difficult information with professionalism and empathy.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience guiding and developing HR or operational teams.
  • High level of adaptability and resilience in a dynamic pre-opening environment.
