About The Organisation

An established international non-governmental organisation working across Africa is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and strengthen the HR function in Zimbabwe. The organisation implements programmes focused on sustainable development, community empowerment, and humanitarian response, working closely with local partners, government, and international stakeholders.

Role Overview

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all HR operations in Zimbabwe, ensuring compliance with local labour laws and organisational policies while providing strategic HR support to programme and operational teams. The role will lead recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and organisational development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Strategy

Implement HR strategies aligned with the organisations regional and global HR framework.

Support senior management in workforce planning and organisational development.

Recruitment & Talent Management

Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for national staff and consultants.

Ensure transparent, equitable, and competency-based hiring practices.

Support onboarding and staff integration.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

Provide guidance on employee relations matters, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution.

Coordinate performance management processes and staff development plans.

Policy & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Zimbabwean labour legislation and internal HR policies.

Maintain HR documentation, staff records, and contracts.

Support audits and donor compliance requirements.

Training & Staff Development

Identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives.

Promote a culture of continuous learning and leadership development.

Compensation & Benefits

Oversee payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HR reporting.

Ensure competitive and equitable compensation structures.

Qualifications And Experience

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.

A postgraduate qualification in HR or organisational development will be an added advantage.

Minimum 57 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the NGO or development sector.

Strong knowledge of Zimbabwe labour law and HR best practices.

Experience managing recruitment and HR operations in donor-funded programmes.

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.

Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
